As reported in my previous post, the 25th annual International Bluegrass Music Awards were handed out at the Duke Energy Center amidst performances by top bluegrass acts and the induction of Neil Rosenberg and the original Seldom Scene in the Hall of Fame.

World of Bluegrass 2014 Streetfest Schedule

The full schedule of artists and performances for Wide Open Bluegrass StreetFest, the free street festival portion of Wide Open Bluegrass, has just been announced.  The roster of artists performing October 3 and 4 in Raleigh, North Carolina, includes a broad mix of local, national and international bluegrass talent.

The full schedule of artists and performance times for various stages at the free Wide Open Bluegrass StreetFest is listed below.

“If you’ve ever wondered what ‘bluegrass heaven’ would be like, you need to come to Raleigh, North Carolina October 3-4,” said IBMA Executive Director Nancy Cardwell.  “You’ll hear some of the best bluegrass music from around the world, played by talented musicians of all ages.  There will be banners in the street, barbecue wafting through the air, banjos on every corner, red-hot jamming and dancing, and a smile on every face.  In the Raleigh Convention Center we’ll have a fantastic Bluegrass Expo Hall, a Masters Workshop, and celebrity jam sessions, plus all sorts of great music and fun outside at the StreetFest.  Get your tickets now and make plans to enjoy every joyous part of the Wide Open Bluegrass festival!””

The PNC-presented free Wide Open Bluegrass StreetFest, held along Fayetteville Street, will feature more than 80 bands, four music stages, a dance tent, vendors, concessions and a special youth stage near the Convention Centre that will feature performances and activities from the future stars of bluegrass – including programming set up by IBMA’s Youth Council.  Additionally, StreetFest will contain a Bluegrass Expo Hall and a Masters Workshop Stage in the Raleigh Convention Centre.

Year two of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass festival will be held in Raleigh North Carolina 30 September to 4 October 2014 (the event moved from Nashville last year).  To celebrate the event’s second year in the band’s hometown, Chatham County Line has made a video for its song “Living in Raleigh Now.”

You can check it out in the player below.  It was shot all over downtown Raleigh, including onstage at the Red Hat amphitheater and on Boylan Bridge.

 

 

Tour dates for the band are below.  While not listed on the band’s official site, Chatham County Line also will be performing at the Americana Festival in Nashville 2014 this September.  Hopefully I’ll get to see the band play again, at each festival.

Wide Open Bluegrass (WOB) is a two-day festival which is part of the World Of Bluegrass event in Raleigh North Carolina.  WOB is held at the Red Hat Amphitheatre in downtown Raleigh, on a single stage, on 3 and 4 October 2014 and the line-up for that has been announced.
